Greetings! Thank you for your interest. Each rocking chair is crafted by myself with occasional help from a few skilled assistants over 4-6 weeks. "Standard" models feature blonde (maple) or strawberry blonde (birch) frames with brunette (walnut) or redhead (cherry) seat slats. Some slight tonal customization may be possible, but generally my chosen guiding principles are:

-Let the species determine the color, not the stain or finish.

-Source lumber from locally displaced/dead/salvaged trees when possible. Otherwise, chose only among North American hardwoods. 

-Trust only the species that you are confident will endure the challenges of the design, AND that have a friendly personality (sorry white oak!). 

Starting price for standard models is $12,000 and includes free shipping or personal delivery within the contiguous U.S. Lead time is 6-12 months. 

We also produce a small collection of unique 1/1 edition chairs to debut each May. These feature rare wood species, antique fabrics, or experimental techniques that would be impossible or improbable to replicate. These pieces are ready to ship in June, following their exhibition.
